I was allowed a lay in today - thanks Mary and Kids. No real reason, just didn't wake up - only til I think 830-900, not like midday.
So we started late - what to do? Ollie was better, Amy fine and Mary a tad stir crazy just wanting to get out of the condo. Raining to start though damn, what to do? Gradually it brightened up, and decision made let's go somewhere new we have not been before - off we departed to River Safari. Caveated here before any go disappearing on mass to this place, it about 50% open only at the moment, as the river safari itself is not yet working - but even what we saw was very impressive - very.
I think you'll agree from the following. Commentary per photo for some intros. But whilst we were there we walked through Mississippi, Amazon, Nile, Murray River etc so literally a tour of the world in the 4 or so hours we were there today. Really well done again Singapore - love this place.

Interesting to see these two species in tank number 1. We thought they were waving at us, but actually they were on the inside cleaning the tank - ha ha!
Now I can't remember all the fish names, but this one if I remember comes from the Mississippi - huge bloody thing, but incredibly beautiful.
This snapping turtle was the size of a small car - now I know why those girls cleaning had chosen the other tank to work in. You don't want those jaws up your wet suit now do you!?
Mhua, so cute - a pygmy crocodile - have to admit I did not know these even existed.
So maybe only a clutch bag from this one, not a full handbag - you know what I mean ladies!
On to the tiger fish.
Massive predator fish with a rather large set of teeth - like the Bee Gees on steroids!
It's truly a stunning fish, but it has that air of the smiling assassin about it - almost too quiet, serene and calm.
I imagine they are a bit like a quiet fart - silent but deadly
They just 'hovered' in the water, looking, staring - scary!
This was a Nile Crocodile - you really do not get an idea of the scale of this (excuse the pun) - this thing must have been at least 15' long.
There were two just lounging in the sun and then when Amy sat by the front window they slowly slid in to the water came right up to the glass as per the picture and then one of them snapped its jaws together and made this clap of thunder like noise - yes literally through the water and the very thick glass. That noise made about 40 people all standing at the glass jump and move back - man that was a scary moment.
Amazing fish with head of a carp and body of a - well I just don't know!
Off to the mighty Mekong River in Asia now - home to the largest cat fish in the world!

Red pandas, lazing about in trees- how cute are these - my gawd!!!

Then to the big boy pandas.
100Kg at 5 years old only - 5 years is maturity for pandas.
There were two of these and they just sat eating and eating completely oblivious to the 100's watching him.
Maybe he wouldn't feel the same when he's going to the loo - mind you an animal that has 50 poo's a day is going to find it bloody hard to find privacy every time right! (true fact by way).
Goldilocks is having breakfast with the three bears when a panda burst in to the room. He walks over and scoffs down all the porridge. He then pulls a gun and kills all 3 bears then and there, before disappearing out the door as quickly as he arrived.
Goldilocks is bemused; "What the hell was that?"
She did a quick Google search and all became clear, as on Wikipedia it clearly stated;
Panda - eats, shoots and leaves...
Oh dear me, I am sorry!

Surrounded by the reservoir which makes it feel like you are on a large natural lake as you walk round this place. Its peaceful, its serene - it really is just lovely!

Five years I have lived here and I have never been - terrible really with my family heritage.
Today we rectified this - and yes Miz we must bring you here, its gorgeous.

So crossing that white bridge you saw earlier and hey presto we leave Japan and enter China.
Again lose the HDBs and you could be anywhere in China couldn't you.
OK with the aid of focus change to the pillar not pagoda and hey presto HDBs gone - so where in China are we. Amazing!
English, Japanese, Filipino - Singaporeans in Chinese Gardens. Sounds like a joke doesn't it.
There was an English bloke, two Japanese kids and a Filipino - they walked in to this Chinese garden ...
Then it got a little whacky.

The to the toilets below - showing off a beautiful array of Chinese Theatre masks from Beijing. To get more information on the individual mask - yep you lift the toilet seat as the kids are showing you.

And then to close the day off and to celebrate Ollie's fantastic performances we go home real quick, dump the car and walk over to Kallang. A slap up dinner was promised to say well done. What did we eat. Yep Indian and Vansch. Superb.
What a clearly multi-cultural day we had.
