Another escape for 30 days - a lovely weekend.

Yet again we're out of the country of that stupid 30 days visa issue.

We had a lovely weekend in JB at the new KSL hotel, suites and shop centre (might end up moving there if this continues in Singapore). We ended up getting 2 single bedroom suites - one for Mary, Jude and I and one for Ollie and Amy. These were great and guess what - $71 bucks a night - well worth the usual bus up for $2.50 a night at this place, some delicious local food and have the kids all go crazy in the dinosaur water park inclusive in the room rent - NICELY done Malaysia.

I think basically KSL Suites are to be sold for residential living, and until sold they are renting them off per night for use as rooms. Hey I'll take that any day of the week. So a little strange, no phone in room, wiring and plumbing for things like washing machine, but cooker and fridge there with cutlery etc. nice and clean and very modern. You walk from this straight in to KSL shopping centre - full of shops and restaurants.

Sadly no Dad jokes this weekend - I am just not in any mood or frame of mind for those right at this time (more on that some other time), but here comes happy photos.

The kids having fun on the bus on the way up. All very exciting for them. Really is good value friends. $2.50 per adult and it only takes circa 40 minutes and boom you are in JB across the water from Woodlands crossing.

Dinner that evening at a Japanese restaurant, with water fall and smoking river. A little Tolkien to be honest, waiting for some Awks an Elves to start a battle on the bridge where the kids are.

"You shall not pass!!!" Says Ollie.
Nice right? This is in the shopping centre - not bad at all.
"Photo Bomb!!!" Says Amy.

"Ride a cock horse to Bambary Cross..." Says Amy.

"Well hun, actually ride a red, balloon, dog-horse that looks like something from Night At The Museum to Bambary Cross!" Says I...
All starts getting crazy at breakfast the next day.
All nicely rested from their sleep in their own suite, clearly the guys had energy.
The only thing Amy still did not have were front teeth - HOLD ON A MINUTE!!!
Well should I actually say, she didn't have clean front teeth - holy cow!!!
Nice Amy - back to Tolkien - but you look like a very cute Awk.
Now we come to a load of photos of Jude.
A little one year old boy that has an ability to make a room of people laugh - pretty amazing.
What he has learnt to do now is facial expression - and boy he knows how to use it.
He'll pull a face and make you laugh, then switch off that expression and smile like above to make you laugh more.
Now check the next few and see what you think his 'mood' was...
Ner Ner Nee Ner Ner...
Hmmm - I am thinking, what to have for dessert???
Ha Ha - no I wasn't Dad, I was joking really - he he!!!
Or was I....
I really am not sure about this Dad, I am not quite happy with the current situation...
As in I am really really not happy with it.
Serious now.
Really.
Seriously!!!
Nah just joking ha ha ha.
Got you!!!
Don't make me angry Dad, you won't like me when I'm angry...
Ooooh what shall I do next?
This is great fun.
Everyone keeps laughing at me.
I know.
I'll pretend to be lunch.
One Baby Jude please - make it rare.
Oooh delicious!!!
Nah only joking - it was just me and Mum being silly!
Can I get a nice photo with my Sister now please Dad - yeah just like that.
Ahh that's lovely kids.
Dad, Dad how about with my brother Ollie now.
There you go mateys.
Ah thanks Dad that's great.
Man oh man - I am tried now.
I think I might just lay down here on this rather nice pillow that smells of Ollie.
Ahhhhhhh - comfy.
But wait what's this another pillow to my right.
Wow this one smells of Amy.
Love my new pillows.
Love my Sis and Love my Brother.
They love you too Baby Jude - don't worry!!!

Happy Happy Saturday at our new GEM on East Coast Park - back to SandBank with friends!

Back we walk to SandBank at Parkland Green, on East Coast Service Road - remember the review blog on islifearecipe.net

This time with friends.
This time with scooters.
This time with swimming costumes.
This time with towels.

So The Rutherfords (Steve, Frey and Sophia), and The Copeland's (Scotty, Bao and Erin) accompanied us today. Now following will be some snaps, but you'll notice not one photo of yours truly, Steve or Scott ha ha - I wonder why? Well I was taking the photos, but we were also consuming bottles of Sol to get our 50% discount off the pizzas we had just consumed. Sounded like a great financial and commercial proposition to me.

I would hurry though as this is January Madness only. $45 for 5 bottles of your choice of beer, and get 50% off a pizza from the main menu, usual RRP $26, so it literally becomes $13 for really good home made pizzas - we hd two of the parma and pesto and I have ground chili beef.

So to some snaps of the glorious day - that ended up in another walk - a walk down the underpass, under ECP, through Parkway Parade, down to I12, along East Coast Road to Rabbit, Carrot, Gun for dinner - again you'll need have a look at islifearecipe.net for that as it is a review.

OK OK one quick foodie that I could not warrant a whole food blog for.
Because Mary and Glenda came they could now share the 2 person dish - Seal Food Broil.
Looks pretty amazing and according to the girls it tasted the same.
My beautiful girl - still no teeth yet, despite Xmas wishes ha ha.
Very beautiful Amy Boo.
Now quick question - do you think the water is cold or warm?
Answers on a postcard, although Amy's face may give you a slight hint.
Her best mate Sophia in the background.
The girls just chilling.
So this is pool number 1, slightly deeper, but even so still perfect for the kids. If they look straight ahead there is the beach and sea, and if they spin round there is SandBank the bar and restaurant. Can you see to the end of the shelf they are leaning on, see the step down? Well that is pool number 2, the real shallow one of the wee ones. Perfect!!!
More friends together - Freya and Ollie join in. Not NOT ONE PERSON is sitting down in the water.
Another clue for the water temperature question ha ha.
LOVE this shot.
All the kids.
L-R; Ollie, Baby Jude (lasted 10 minutes and got blue lips ha ha), Freya, Sophia, Amy and Erin.
NICE.
This was also a little bit of a get Erin to play with Amy and make friends. I think we're nearly there.
Yep mission accomplished for Amy and Erin - now co-pilots on the family bike ride.
Poor little Baby Jude look at that - just he riding solo with 6 girls - wow in a few years Jude you'll be the envy of all your mates if you can pull this off again ha ha - 6 girls and you in yer motor!!!

So off they go for a ride.
Hold on a minute we're going the wrong way.
No reverse and the turning circle of an oil tanker - so Freya becomes the 'tug' to turn this puppy.
Nearly done, but let's block two lanes of the bicycle highway on East Coast - ha ha.
Dare I say - "Women drivers, tsk tsk!!!"
Amy and Erin clearly see the lighter side of things...
Now this is an old lookout tower, we think from WWII. Again up go the girls, now thick as thieves.
Don't know if you can see but there is Amy, Sophia, Freya and Erin.
And here it is from where I was sitting with no zoom.
Now for those in Singapore there is a darker side to this pretty ordinary site.

Apparently about 10 years ago a couple were walking along the path, popped up the lookout site to gain some new views and were set upon by a gang. She got gang raped and killed, and he got stabbed but survived. Have you heard of this? So now you can do haunted tours of Singapore and they always end at this site as apparently the most haunted in Singapore. Footprints appear, screams can be heard - apparently.

Girls time to come down now please!!!
Amy Boo, Erin - were you scared up there?

"NAH!!!" said them both...

WHAT A LOVELY DAY.
Thanks to Rutherford's and Copeland's - and of course my gang.
We must do that again soon!!!

Happy New Year

OK here we go - some snaps of Happy New Year celebrations.
Did we go up market - No.
Did we spend a fortune - No.
Did we fine dine - No.
Did we have champagne - No.

Did we have massive fun with great friends - YES.

Down to East Coast Lagoon hawker we went. After a shaky start getting a table we were soon settled and had an absolute blast. Great friends, great fun, great food and of course a few adult beverages to wash it all down - but at $7 for a pint and half you can't go wrong hey.

Yo should have seen Coatsey when he put his wig on.
Nice glasses Baby Jude.
See how packed this place was tonight - even after having laid out extra seating.
Nice one of my Mary and Baby Jude - but god only knows what Freya is up to, ha ha.
Clearly not her good side, ha ha!
Everyone still awake at this point.
Happy Happy Happy.
Even the Blowers came down - so we pulled the tables together and hey presto our party got even bigger.
Happy New Year to Baby Jude and my Mary.
Let's clear up some of those loose ends in 2015 babes!!!
What was that film name, er, hmmm, oh come on Brian.
Ah ha, I know it's "Beauty and the Beast" he he!!!
Interesting garb all round, I'm sure you'll agree.
Nicely done Ollie, classy matey!
Our neighbours and our great great mates - The Rutherford's.
Happy New Year my lovelies.
My beautiful not so baby girl now.
Glow sticks in hand.
Clearly Barrie did not get the memo re the shirt style.
Either that or he boil washed his Hawaiin till the pattern came out.

Your truly with a load of birds all over him.
Ha Ha.
But only one special on in his arms.
The elders together.
Was tricky getting them to stand so close to each other for so long.
Teenage thing I am assuming ha ha.
The Kennett clan - nearly midnight now.
Sophia and Glenda too.
Very nice photo indeed.
Man down, man down.
We have a casualty.
Bless him - he just faded at the end and had a lovely sleep.
Bless.
Quality shot of the Bazzer with the beautiful Freya.
Hoping Barrie does NOT have matching collar and cuffs.
Off to the beach now, you'll see why in a second.
Notice no Amy with us.
Yep she went off somewhere without us as the clock struck midnight - hmmmm.
It's midnight.
No fireworks, but all the ships let of flares.
You know it was kind of magical.
What a great New Year's eve celebration - top drawer.
A great end to 2014, and a wonderful start to 2015.

Wishing all our family and friends all over the world a truly happy 2015.
Much love from us, yep the Kennett's

My first day at my new school...

Time flies.
Especially if you actually get the wrong start day for first day at school.
Whoopsy.
We thought Monday 5th, nope it's today 2nd - luckily bus driver rang us.

So 0600am this morning we're up and she is dressed and we're walking off to Amy new school.

I like my new uniform Dad, but bloody hell it's early in the morning!!!
What does the 0 in 0600 stand for? Oh My God It's Early...

Nervous, excited, pensive and all that, but it turned out to be ACE as we though it would be.
Opera Estate is a great school, she will gel in here VERY quickly.

Off to pick her up later and get a de-brief, but I am certain it will be smily faces all round.
Well done Amy - big girl now in big school.
WOW!

In the new class queue, getting excited and ready to rock and roll.
I think I am more nervous than she is...
And off she goes to the new class with her new mates.
Have fun Amy Boo.

And here in the light of day is the young lady in her new uniform.
Very smart Amy Boo.
But still VERY VERY cute too.
