So one of his after clubs is to do digital photography, and this results in an exhibition and competition 16th June. Here are his entries. They all have titles but I could not transpose those from the powerpoint we created together, but I'll try do that somehow. I think these are great. Literally all I did was convert them to black and white and do some cropping/touching up with him, the content is all his! I think brilliant! Next will be Amy, and these will make you LAUGH!!!
She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

A squeezed in assembly, very last minute.com but here he is with his mates in all his glory.
Ollie great work as always mate, not quite "A few good kids", but you're a knockout every time pal!!!!
And who is that budding photographer, that has a look of Bono (U2) about her when she has her glasses on, ha ha! And check the handbag, glasses, high heels shot, oh my gosh 3 going on 23. Ha Ha! Amy your Mum would be proud to see you like this, but we're all certain she is watching you babe. You really make us all laugh so much.
I was going to have more photos this weekend but I have had to pull a sickie, so hopefully back to normal next weekend with more blogs to follow.

WOW is not enough but all I can say!
So I have just left the theatre having watched the kids perform the first show - all I can say is WOW. That really does not do justice to what I just saw, witnessed, marveled at, but it literally is all I can say.
13 9-14 year old kids just blew away an audience of 150 people with their acting skills, they nailed every line, every joke, every emotion like seasoned professionals. It really was one of those "you have to see it" moments!
So proud Dad here, such a proud Dad. Ollie if you read this you were AMAZING my friend, just AMAZING. Every single person in that audience was on every word you said, the rap song was wonderful even with no music because of technical glitch - but you carried on like a pro! Just wonderful Ollie. I truly believe you have found a calling there mate! And no nerves but very excited afterwards!
I just hope the next performance goes as well, this one being video'd so I hope to be able to get a copy or 20 to send off to the family around the world! Ollie you were a SUPERSTAR!
Again WOW!!!!!!!!!
The day arrives
So here I am sitting in a VERY hot day in Singapore, beer in hand, new Mac Air lap-top on lap (literally), and in a state of PANIC. Today is the day for Ollie's play, I am nervous, pensive, apprehensive, scared, worried - you name it I am feeling it.
BUT I dop Ollie at 1400 ahead of first show at 1630 - and the kids are all just chilled, laughing, chatting, relaxed - they have yet again BLOWN ME AWAY. They are just amazing, like professionals, but they are 9-14 years old, you have to see it I suppose to appreciate it, but goodness me I was having kittens when it was announced that I had to do a best man speech. These kids are performing to 450 people over 3 shows, my goodness.
So I have to share this as I am speechless with these kids. Completely not fazed at all by this major event in their lives. Go kids! I truly am so very proud of you all. Bring on "A Few Good Kids", I really cannot wait to see the performance in a short while.
Now I cannot take photos/video so hopefully they will do a professional job and I can buy and then do my usual export around the Globe, hence this being, I think, my first blog with just text.
Also whilst on I mentioned above a new lap-top, which I LOVE. MAC AIR, GET ONE!!!!!!!!! So the reason I have purchased this is that a few people have mentioned they like reading what I write, plus I got inspired lately by a certain chef, Mr Anthony Bourdain, and hey presto I thought tell you what I am going to write. And write I shall. So the plan is a jumble of life stories, cooking, eating, travelling, kids and maybe even a few Brian Kennett recipes thrown in to boot. Let me know what you think? Good idea?????
Well hot now and if I am typing I can't drink my beer, ha ha, so back to that and with love to all I shall say goodbye. xxx

The final one for today
Amy,
You are so so so going to tell Daddy off when you're like 16 or something like that.
But I just could not resist positing these couple of pictures. We're all so proud of you and your potty training, in fact not even potty trained as you prefer to use the loo. But this makes me giggle so much, here you are having a poo/unchi and what do you say, but: "phew Daddy what's that smell?" Ha Ha Ha, babe it's right under your nose.
Bless you Amy, always keeping us all laughing laughing laughing!
Love you, Daddy xxx
So here is some of THE SPEECH. A snippet, a sampler, a section - just enough to give you an idea!
Ha Ha, a complete rush job squeezing in speech writing between getting ready for Amy's birthday party, a nightmare. But we got there, many mad looks at this bloke in just shorts standing on the balcony of his condo talking to himself (actually practising my speech).
I have to thank Mr Davis, thanks Simon, for alerting me to the need at 10am, or the night could have been a completely different affair.
But if you listen in the background there is laughter, and actually once in to it I had great fun. Then later in the night you couldn't get me off the stage doing a stand up routine, and Mr Davis to the rescue again - stole the microphone and made me sit down.
A great wedding and again as said before thanks to Barrie and Bing for welcoming me and Mary to what was a fantastic event. Bring on Bali Mr and Mrs Steele!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!
A "sneak" peak
Very very naughty I know but I could not resist.
We all attended Ollie's second rehearsal of the play at the actual theatre today and I snuck my camera in to take some video footage, because I am not allowed to at the actual performance next week.
So it's a bit bitty, but you get the idea - AMAZING Mr Kennett, just AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
The "Other " Royal Wedding
SO here we are the "other" Royal Wedding of Barrie and Bing Bing on 30th April 2011. In fact I should add, the #1 wedding of two for Barrie and Bing Bing as in June we're all off to Bali for the second one, and staying on a little later so I can celebrate my birthday there as well.
A FANTASTIC evening and night at a little known place along East Coast.
Yes I was best man, and up to 10am on 30th thought all I was doing was taking a passport and signing the registrar - hope Mr Steele came up trumps and ask that I do a best man's speech - bless him, ha ha!
Well I think all went well in the end. The audience laughed at the right points and not just at me, ha ha!
So a massive thank you to Barrie and Bing Bing for making us part of your day and part of the family. It truly was a great night and Bing, well my love you looked stunning and you should be VERY proud of your son! Some beautiful photos to follow. Can't wait til June guys!
I am also trying to work out how to attach the video Mary did of the speech - let me keep trying, but here's the photos for now.
THE 3rd birthday party
Wow what a day it was yesterday. So joint birthday party at 1330 with Harry, Princess and Super Hero theme. Then Barrie and Bing wedding at 1800 same day, at which I was best man with no real duties (so I thought - read on). So a morning of chaos cake delivery, party bag packing, drinks to get, eski to pack, presents to wrap, pizzas to order, shopping to do etc.
Then I get a call from my mate Simon, at 10:00 am, who is MC for the wedding. So mate he says, at about 2030 I'll introduce you and then you do your speech. "Sorry my what, my speech!?!?!?!?!" was my response, maybe with quite a few swear words in addition to that. "My speech. what speech, Barrie no tell me I need do a speech!!!!!!" Yep you can tell BLIND PANIC now takes over, so organising Amy party with all the above and now having to write and practice a best man's speech - dear me, what a morning the 30th April was!
Still we did it. A fantastic birthday party, although one down side was it was Amy nap time so she was a little grumpy for the first part as you'll see from the photos and videos below. But then she got her second wind and off we went with smiles and laughs! Great day. Lot's of our very good freinds, Miz and new babies all together for what seems an age - for example we have not seen Laurence, Kirsty for 3-4 months I think and this time we got to meet the gorgeous new member of their family. How cute is she. Poor Lol now lives with FIVE women! FIVE! WOW!
So here we go some lovely shots of the day. Great fun. Thanks to all that attended and made it great fun for my darling daughter.
Love Bri
